Frequently asked

When should you hit in blackjack?
Hit hard 8 or less always, hard 9–11 when doubling isn’t better, hard 12–16 against a dealer 7 or higher, and most soft hands of 17 or less. The chart above encodes every case exactly.
When should you split in blackjack?
Always split aces and 8s. Never split 5s or 10s. Everything else depends on the dealer’s upcard — 2s, 3s, 6s, 7s and 9s split against weak dealer cards. Tap the Pairs table for each verdict.
When should you double down?
Hard 11 against everything but an ace (S17 rules), hard 10 vs 2–9, hard 9 vs 3–6, and soft 13–18 against the dealer’s weakest cards. Each cell above shows the exact EV gain.
